The 11U (Mosquito) division provides baseball for boys and girls born in 2011 or 2012.
Players are drafted by the coaches onto evenly balanced teams to help promote individual and team development, while also introducing moderate levels of competition.
Pitching is introduced at this level, and games are played with players pitching to batters on the opposing team with an umpire to call balls and strikes. Pitch counts are recorded. Scores and standings are also recorded at this level.
In addition to pitching, players continue to develop their primary baseball skills in hitting, base running, fielding, and throwing, with a concentration on having fun in a team environment.
The Spring Season runs from April to mid-June. Players will typically have 2 games and 1 practice per week. Games are typically held at Gunderson Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Each player is required to have a glove, athletic supporter, grey pants, cleats and a batting helmet with a strap. Many players also have their own bat, but it is not required.
Players are provided a practice shirt and hat to keep, plus a game jersey and belt, which must be returned at the end of the season.
