Coaches Needed!

For returning coaches and new parents wishing to get involved with baseball, now is the time to start thinking about the coming season.

Coaching certification in the NCCP starts with an online component and an Initiation Clinic. Details can be found at www.baseball.bc.ca/nccp

Hands-on training clinics will be available for all divisions in the new year.

To become a coach or volunteer, fill in the appropriate information on your child's registration form or contact a member of the Executive. Coaching applications and Record Check forms can be found on our Forms page.

NCCP Coaching Courses

The 'new' NCCP Coaching Certification Program consists of the Initiation and Regional Coach streams which replace the old Level 1 and 2 programs.  All coaches not grandfathered under the old system must complete Baseball Canada's On-line Module and take an Initiation Coach Clinic to be certified as an "Initiation Coach".  To meet summer ball requirements some coaches need to achieve "Regional and Provincial Coach" level.  This program consists of the Initiation Coach requirements and five 4-5 hours clinics. North Delta Baseball will reimburse the costs of these courses to coaches once they have completed the course (keep all receipts).

NOTE: Any coach with status in the old NCCP levels has until December 31, 2008 to complete the on-line "Making Ethical Decisions" Evaluation if they wish to be granted status in the new NCCP.

Criminal Record Checks

According to the 2008 NDBA Rules:

All members of the NDBA Executive and all Team Managers and Coaches must COMPLETE the criminal record check process prior to Opening Ceremonies for spring league and prior to July 1 for summer ball. Failure to do so may result in indefinite suspension from the Association.
